Giving Back this Holiday Season

The Salvation Army is notoriously Christmas.
Right?
The guy/gal ringing the bells at storefronts, street corners, the Angel Trees is office buildings, daycares, etc.

So, it makes sense that there are dozens of opportunities to volunteer with them throughout the holiday season.
I volunteered with my team at work a few weeks ago and decided to sign up again(on my own) to volunteer the week of Christmas.
Today was the day!!
It was actually the very last day for families to come and pick up their Angel Tree gifts and it was so very cool.
When we arrived at 8am, there were already people in line.
The center is an old empty Wal-Mart and full-time workers and volunteers have been working for weeks to get everything ready.
I invited my 2 friends, Amanda and Christina to join me and they were just as excited as me.
Not long after we got there the distribution started.
Bags of toys, bikes and more were picked up by anxious and appreciative parents.
Believe it or not, there were HUNDREDS of kids, whose names were never picked off a tree.
Thank goodness for generous companies who donate toys and more for them.
Today, we frantically shopped for them to get their packages ready for them to pick up in just hours time!!

Welcome to TOYLAND!
When shopping for the children it didn't take me long to spot this!
HAHA!
An LSU Dancing Mike the Tiger.
In case you're new here, I'm a die-hard LSU fan.
What are the chances here in Carolina?
Needless, to say, it didn't get put into a child's bag today when I was there.
The day was so very rewarding.
Seeing the families come in and get their items.
Working together for a common 'good' cause.
It truly is the reason for the season.
It put me even more into the holiday spirit than I already am.
Merry Christmas to all!!
Give back if you have a chance this holiday season.
