Shelby's Baptism

What a special day!!
Shelby was baptized today and other than tinkling on Daddy as the service started she did fabulous!!!!
We took a few pictures before the service.

From a previous post, you know Shelby wore my dress I was 'dedicated' in.

She did so good.
It wasn't until right  when we went up for the baptism Brad realized her diaper leaked.
YIKES!
He had put the diaper on wrong.
Dr. Howell is amazing.
Truly, a great minister.
So glad he was in town for her baptism.
Our entire family who was present.
So very special to have family there.
Grandparents

We had a light brunch at our house afterwards.
My cousin Karen made the bunting and mailed it to me.
How awesome is that?
I plan to use for first birthday too.
Believe it or not I didn't have to buy any decorations.
We had everything already inlcuding serving ware.
The flowers were from a neighbor's yard.
I think everything was perfect for the occassion.

The cake was made by Deb's Sweet Cakes here in Charlotte.
Raspberry buttercream.
Delicious.

My friend Karen?
Best EVER!!!
While we were at church she set out all the food and prepped everything!
She did an amazing JOB!
I can't thank her enough!
Cousin Mike in from VA.
My 1st cousin Katie who lives in town.
So special for them to be there.
Friend Kelli.
(Shelby took a nap and did a wardrobe change)
Paw Paw Stephens
-
Cousins Mike and Kathy who have a grandson on the way in November.
Shelbs will have a cousin 1-year and 1-month younger.
Aunt Robyn - also Godmother..

Such a special time.
Thank you to all who came!!

5 on Friday

Linking up again today for 5 on Friday.
#1. This weekend Shelby is getting baptized.
Exciting week for us and our entire family!
We're hosting a light brunch at our house afterwards and can't wait to see everyone.
Some of Brad's family from Virginia will even be in town for it.
Get ready for picture overload next week!

#2. Speaking of next week, it's the 4th of July week!
The 4th is by far my favorite holiday!
I love the red, white, blue, bbqing, laking it, watermelon and fireworks.
Last year on the 4th we did our gender reveal and while that was super special my most favorite Fourth of July ever has to be the year we were in DC and on the Capitol Lawn.
It was me and my parents along with my nephew who was 13.
He's now 23.
A whole 10-years ago!
It was still the coolest ever and I hope to take Shelby to experience it one day too!
#3. For the Fourth, we're taking our new travel trailer on it's Maiden Voyage!
Lu, from Looks Like LuLu, and her hubby are hauling their camper to the mountains with us for the big adventure!
#4. Ready for Napa and the Bay Area!
It's still 2-months away but I'm literally counting down the days until our next trip to the SF Bay Area and Napa!
This time our friends Kathleen, from Reporter turned Mommy, and her hubby are coming with us.
They've never been to Napa so we're already making reservations and booking tastings!
I'm ready for an abundance of creamy cheeses, salty meats, french bread and a little cab and chard!!
(Napa trip 2009)
(3-sheets to the wind in Napa 2009)
#5. Last but certainly not least today is the 5-year anniversary of the day I met my husband Brad.
Yep, it was 5-years ago that friends talked me into leaving my scrapbooking project at home and walking to a nearby bar.
The rest is history.
Here's a picture of our 2nd date after that night.
What are you loving this Friday?!

VERY Interesting Weekend...INDEED!

Our weekend was a bit more eventful than we had planned or expected.
Friday we both got off work a early so we changed clothes, put Shelby in the stroller and walked to a local restaurant for happy hour.
BTW - I'm really loving my short hair!
When we got home we kicked it before putting Shelby to bed.
Hers and Buddy are just loving each other these days!

Then, I started on laundry.
Three loads Friday night.
It was when the last load started buzzing in the dryer that I started running up the stairs(the laundry area is right next to Shelby's room and we are always afraid of it waking her).
That's when I tripped and stubbed my big toe.
It didn't hurt at first even though half of the nail was ripped off the nail bed.
But, I knew I was SCREWED.
I'll spare you all the details except that I was the first at Urgent Care the next morning and they had to take the entire nail off!!!!!!!!
HOLY HURT!
I just kept telling myself that I have been through labor and delivering a baby and this should be nothing.
That really didn't help though.
It hurt like no tomorrow and I'm still dealing with some pain.
Let's hope it doesn't last long.
After my trip to Urgent Care Shelby and I headed out to do some errands.
Farmer's market was first.
They had real, raw honeycomb for sale.
I came real close to buying it but this tray was $28 and I chickened out when it was all said and done.
Our next stop was the grocery store where I decided to have Shelby ride in the cart for the first time ever!
Girlfriend LOVED IT!!
It totally made my day, especially giving how my day started.
:(
While Shelbs and I were out running errands Brad was over putting a down payment on the newest addition to the Stephens fam.
A pull camper!!!!!!!!!
We are so excited!
I know it's not every one's thing but we are SUPER excited to be able to start using this and visit all of the beautiful areas and state parks here in the Carolinas and surrounding states.
More on it in another post!
Later in the evening, we got dressed up and got Shelby settled with a sitter so we could go to my BIL's 40th surprise birthday party!
To say he was surprised is an understatement.
I don't think he had a clue!
I love my SIL's reaction behind him.
She worked super hard to put this whole thing together!
I think he had a fabulous time being with all his friends and family!
I know we did.
Despite my bummed toe.
I just wore one of my trusty maxi dresses to hide my ugly bandage.
Good times for all!
Today was low-key.
We needed it.
We ran errands, got things ready for the work week and played with this cutie.
She played so much today that she was in bed snoozing by 6:45pm.
So we went from good, to bad, back to good this weekend.
This week involves a lot of preparation for Shelby's baptism and baptism celebration brunch this coming weekend
Lots of family and friends!
Happy Monday!
