Hair Bows..those were the days..
Ok – so this is a cheesy post but I got to thinking about my days as a real, serious‘bow head’, after seeing a post on another blog this last week talking about hair bows.
Remember those days back in the 80’s and early 90’s when junior high and high school girls wore bows? Maybe it was just in Louisiana where girls did that?? My Mom made a lot of mine and I swear at one point I think I had one for every outfit!
I don’t think junior and senior high girls do that anymore? I think there more about looking like Britney Spears or Paris Hilton. Times change…maybe bows will make a comeback for that age group?
Well, for all of you who were a bow head like me at one time – here’s a few pictures too reflect on those days! Yes, I even wore them my first year of college! YIKES!
Happy Tuesday – day 3 of the soup diet and 2days until Tahoe!

I used to have bows in every color. It was a TN thing too!
Garden of the Gods!!!!! We loved that place.
Dee, I wore them my first year at LSU, too. I have a picture (somewhere!) of me in a Tiger t-shirt, tiger dangle earrings and a massive bow. LOVED them. Still do. That's why I kept having children.....until I had a girl in order to keep buying them. Blake got mad when I put them on the boys. L-A-M-E.
Love your pics!
I totally was a bow head. That is what people called my group of friends. I had one for EVERY single outfit, my mom started making mine as well.
My fave was a huge royal blue one with rhinestones all over it. I need to find some pics. Hilarious.
Cabbage soup diet? You're nuts. Let me know if it works and I will try it.
One of the best parts about having a little girl. I love putting bows that coordinate with their outfits on them - takes me back to junior/senior high and my own big curly hair/bow days.
You know I love this post. I added links for The Entertaining Mom!
Have a fabulous day!!
xxx me
I was a bow head too...had them in every color and they usually matched my socks and purses! Doubt they will ever come back but we shall see.
