Happy New Year!

Happy 2015!
It's crazy to think we're at that number, I graduated from high school in 1993, over 20 years ago.
Oh, how times flies.
This year was a good one and a year to where Brad and I really learned more about parenting.
It's not easy, especially a toddler.
We traveled to a lot of great places, made new friends, tried new recipes, learned to cook as a family and more.
Of course, there have been challenges too, but let's be real, I don't write this blog for you to hear about any sort of drama that occurs in my life.

This year Brad has donned 'the year of savings'.
I agree, we were out a LOT of expense last year settling different things having to do with my old condo near downtown, dental work and more.
Our hope is to really contribute more to Shelby's college fund this year, but also to hunker down and really save towards getting a house.
(most of you may know but we live in a 3-story town home that was Brad's before we married)
I could and should write an entire post about that, but not today.

So, how did we ring in 2015?!
At home with a small group of friends.
At the last minute my parents offered to take Shelby and have her stay the night out at my cousin's house.
This relieved a LOT of stress and we were able to relax and enjoy the festivities.
I have made this rosemary citrus water for every holiday event that we've hosted in our home and it's delish.
Fresh lemons, limes and rosemary sprigs submerged in water.
Make it, it helps get rid of the bloat too!
We had everyone bring an appetizer and beverage and we had more than enough.
I made a baked brie again and even prided myself into having a bell on top.
LOL!!
I did this for the holiday wine tasting I hosted too but this was a smaller wheel and it turned out much better.
We had many of our usual suspects but a few newbies too.
It was a great evening and our last guest Ubered it home at 2:30am.
It was great to be able to sleep until 10am the next day without having to worry about taking care of a toddler.
In fact, I let my parents keep her one more night so I could tear all of our Christmas down, convert Shelby's tree into a Mardi Gras version, and convert her bed into a toddler bed.
She'll be home any minute and I'm excited for her to see the transformation.
BIG changes are ahead!!
Hope the transition is easy.
Happy 2015!!!

You look beautiful! And it looks like y'all had a great party. :) Can't wait to hear how she felt about her big girl room! I am keeping Drew in her crib for as long as I can - I hope another year!! I would love to hear the story (when you feel like telling it) about the townhouse and your plan for your next house.

I'm making that Rosemary water the next chance I get, so fun. You faired much better than I did on New Years, I was in bed by 10:00 pm. ;)
