A Must See

If you haven't checked out Ken Burns new series on PBS than set your DVR kids!

WOW! I've caught 3 out of 4 nights and am loving it! It's a walk through history on how each park came into the national park system.

I think I've mentioned it before - but one of my dreams would be to travel to each national park in the system.

Check your local PBS listings but I'm pretty sure it comes on at 8pm whatever your local time is.

So what have I learned so far from this documentary series?

* John Muir was Teddy Roosevelt's right hand man when it came to getting Yosemite established as a national park.

* The land for Maine's Acadia National Park was donated by the Rockefeller family.

* John D. Rockefeller put up most of the money for the Grand Teton National Park.

* At one point after the Grand Canyon became part of the park system they considered running a cable system/gondola across the Canyon so tourists could see in. They finally realized this would ruin the view.

Seriously kids, you won't be disappointed with this. Click here on more information.
