Our Christmas Miracle

As we enter into these last few days before Christmas I can't help but reflect once again where we were this time last year and what 2012 has been for us.

My blog bestie, I Do Declare, and I have talked a lot about the usage of the word blessed.
When struggling with infertility it really bothered me when people would say that they were so blessed to have their baby, or to be pregnant, blah..blah..blah.
The word blessed has a spiritual connotation, so does that mean God has blessed you and not me with being able to conceive?
If so, why?
What did I do wrong?
~~~~
That's how infertility makes you feel.
Anyone that has, or is in that place, understands.
Giving that, I avoid overusing the word 'blessed' and go with 'lucky' instead.
~~~~
Saying that....
We are lucky to have Shelby in our lives this holiday season.
I still can't believe she is all ours.
Brad and I look at her each day with such joy and love.
It's really amazing to see how far we have come this year.
We started the year out with an attitude of, 'if happens, it happens'.
This didn't come easy for either one of us.
Me, personally...I prayed and prayed and prayed for God to help me with my struggles with infertility and he answered my prayers.
It was when I finally found peace that little Miss Shelby was conceived.
You can read more about our journey by clicking here.

I know most of you are logging off until after Christmas or even into the New Year so I wanted to say Merry Christmas today from our home to yours.
We are staying in town enjoying our Christmas miracle with both my family and Brad's.
Have a great holiday!

I am also a big fan of when people share the blessed news of any luxury purchase. #humblebrag

Shelby should be getting a little happy from me any day now...

You are BLESSED Dee. I always joke with Summer Brown that she is a "blessing" because she hates that. Happy Holidays, enjoy that precious little nugget!!!

You are lucky AND blessed. I know how you feel. I lost two of my pregnancies and EVERYONE around me (including my sister) was pregnant. I was angry and sad. I didn't know why God would take our babies from us, but I feel so very blessed that we have Lyla and I know that it was all part of a BIGGER plan. The timing was so right for us and everything fell into place so perfectly. Congrats on Shelby! Love seeing all her little pictures!

We're always blessed, but we're not always lucky. Thanks for making the distinction. Enjoy your good luck and your sweet baby girl! Merry Christmas!
