Those of you who have been reading this blog for long know just how long it took us to get pregnant.
It wasn't an easy journey.
I use to dream about being pregnant and all of the things I would and wouldn't do.
I would eat healthy, exercise, blah..blah..blah.
Well, I think I've done a pretty good job so far but no one is perfect.
ESPECIALLY ME!!
For instance:
* I've managed to exercise or do some physical activity 5x's a week.
--But, there have been a few weeks I've only done 3x's and honestly, while I'm walking briskly for 30 to 40-minutes I'm not pushing myself or doing anything that would count as 'real exercise' for a lot of you.
* I try and strive for 5 each day. Meaning, five servings of fruits and veggies.
--Some days are better than others. I just ate cheese pizza for dinner and I know I need to go eat a side salad but I don't feel like it. My only fruit or veggie today has been grapes and cantaloupe.
FAIL!
* Limit or refrain from carbonated drinks. I've been pretty good about this since I cut soda out 15-years ago.
--But, there have been events and times when everyone else is drinking alcoholic beverages that I've indulged in a club soda and cranberry juice. And, as you can see above, I have enjoyed a couple of non-alcoholic beers as well.
* Limit my caffeine intake.
--I was really good about this up until a few weeks ago when I started allowing myself a cup of coffee here and there. The doctor says it is fine.
* I've tried not to take over the counter drugs unless really needed.
--On the advice of my doctor I take 2 acid reducers a day now along with eating antacids.
* Take a BrainStrong prenatal vitamin daily along with a dose of vitamin D on advice of my doctor.
--This I've been good about. Taking a DHA vitamin is important because studies show that deficiencies in the mother can impact brain development in the fetus.
The best part about BrainStrong is that no prescription is needed. It's a complete prenatal vitamin with the highest level of folic acid and DHA available without a prescription.
It also costs less than most co-pays.
Healthy living is important all of the time, but we all know it's REALLY important when growing a life.
Again, I'm still giving it my best effort and some days are better than others. Of course, with all of my rib and back pain the eating has become easier just because I can't eat a lot of the stuff I use to without being in pain.
But, overall.. I think I'm doing a pretty good job!

Well done, Dee! You look fantastic.
Good for you ... you do look great!
You really have done so well exercising and eating right. You go girl!
You have done great! Better than me. I try to eat the fruit & veggies. I only workout about 3x a week, walk the dog everyday but only adds up to 20 min. Bad about one soda a day or coffee, you have to indulge sometimes and as long as its in moderation your fine! Sounds like you are doing perfect :) Cute pic!
Great job! I started following your blog this week and have enjoyed catching up! Congrats!!! Erica

sounds like you are already a great mama!
XOXO
GO YOU! You look amazing too - definitely taking notes from you!
So how much caffeine are you REALLY allowed to have a day? (Please don't devastate me as badly as you did when you said "no goat cheese!")
Great job on keeping healthy while you are pregnant. It shows and your baby girl will be so grateful to you. Plus think how much easier it will be to get back into shape afterwards. Smart cookie.
You look and sound amazing. You will really be on top of things when the baby comes as far as getting back into shape. I like your 5 a day. Not only for food but for exercise too. I would add 5 naps a week too.

You look beautiful, Dee!
begging for a compliment, are we?
Sounds like you're on the right track! Women have been having babies for hundreds of years. I think we have become hyper-sensitive these days {due to money making schemes} and it isn’t always necessary. Live life, enjoy your pregnancy, and observe moderation.
I'm wondering if maybe I should try Brainstrong ... I could use a little help this week with all the craziness before school starts :)
Jo
I'm catching up. I think you've done so well.
