Am I Weird??

Everyone in all areas of the country have been talking about how cold it is. Yes, it's cold - that's fo sho~! BUT... am I weird that I actually like exercising outside in it?

Yes, last weekend and again today I chose to walk/run outside in the 18-degree weather this morning rather than go to the gym.

The Buddy doesn't seem to mind either as long as we are M-O-V-I-N-G! I put my hat, gloves, t-shirt, fleece coat and pants and down vest on and head out..
I actually feel refreshed by the cold air hitting my face! Again, is that weird?

I've read in different fitness/health magazines that exercising in the cold temps helps speed up the metabolism because of your body working to get warm. I get warm too -- I'm sweating under all the clothes - just as if I were skiing.

Anyhoo -- Brad doesn't care for this AT ALL. He actually joined me last weekend and said, quote, 'This is the dumbest thing we've ever done!'.

He went to the gym instead.
Well, Happy Saturday guys!

I don't think you are weird, however you would not pass me jogging by you on the street :)

I bet it is refreshing to sweat but have the cool temps even you back out all at the same time...

Or am I weird? :)

I like to run outside when it is cold....but I mean Fl cold...like in the 50's. 18 is a bit extreme.

I love being outside when it's cold. Love walking.....when I can without the little ones. You're not weird!

Not weird..it is kinda refreshing...but the hardest part is actually getting out there for me. Hubby went running this AM and it was about 20 outside...
but someone had to stay in with the bebe, right?
ha!

I can't jog in this weather. I've tried, but the insides of my ears FREEZE. And I can't wear earmuffs over my earbuds because it jacks up the sound. And I have to have music blarin. It's been -5 to 9 degrees here, so I haven't even been walking out there. It's brutal. But I love cold weather exercising otherwise--it's refreshing! Good for you getting out there. This is the chubbiest time of year for Sass ;)
