Miranda Lambert Concert!

I'm not big on going out during the week but I make exceptions here and there.
Last night was one of them when my friend Katie invited me to join her and one of her co-workers, and her family, for the Miranda Lambert concert.
With the ticket only costing $20, I said yes!
I was excited to wear my cowboy boots I got for Christmas and I paired it with a red cowboy hat I bought 8-years ago and have only worn once.
I thought at first it might be too much red but then I decided that I didn't care if it was.
We went early and tailgated in the parking lot like good rednecks do.
I sent the above picture to my friend Kathleen and she said "you look skinny!"
Little did she know I had my Spanx on under my jeans.
HA!
You know I don't do any sort of tailgate without wine and cheese.
Last night gave me the chance to use my new picnic-ware that my Mom gave me for Christmas.
I'm loving the new plates that allow you to hook in your plastic wine glass!
It will be great for Pops in the Park this summer.
I picked up the basket years ago while wine tasting in the Central Coast of California.
 A little cheesy?
Yes, but that's how Dee rolls.
When inside the venue Katie had to buy a koozie.
She said she picks one up from every concert she goes too.
HA!
She bought me one too.
So sweet!
 Chris Young opened up.
Pretty good stuff!
 Then Miranda took stage!
I heart her.
She was suppose to play here last week but had to reschedule after her FIL, Blake's dad passed away.
She puts on one heck of a show and she's not afraid to be herself.
That's refreshing!
 Good times for all!
Thanks to Katie for inviting me and her friend Alice for the tickets!
If you ever get a chance to see Miranda, DO IT!
Happy Thursday!
One more day until the weekend!

Britney Baby!!

Britney Spears came to Charlotte!
I was there!
It was sort of a debacle getting all my plans sorted out, but in the end it could have not been
more perfect.

It started with plans changing for a few friends.
Then...
My Groupon did not end up being what I thought I had purchased.
I got my money back after a phone call.

Then, I called in a favor from a friend.
Something I rarely do.
But..
I really wanted to go to the concert.

A. Liz, from A Liz Adventures, had commented on my blog earlier this week that she too wanted to go but couldn't rally her friends.
PERFECT!
We went together!
Time Warner Arena was the venue.
I was pretty excited since it was my first Britney concert!
(BTW - I'm wearing shorts and top - not a dress)
We quickly discovered that my friend had put us in a suite!
WOOT!
You can't get better than that~!
 A. Liz was pretty excited!
So, was I!
DJ Pauly D was the opening act.
Gotta love house music even if I don't watch Jersey Shore.
For what I had been told were low ticket sales, the arena looked pretty packed to me.
Not a total sellout, but it had to be close to it.
A. Liz and I had a good time checking out some of the outfits concert goers chose to wear.
I seriously felt like I could have been in a Vegas club.
Short skirts, shorts, tight and stilettos.
Made me feel old!
 Then Britney took stage!
WOW!
Awesome, even if she is lip syncing!
It's quite the production.
Costumes, dancers, set pieces.
 I started thinking about it.
I don't think I've ever really been to a concert like this.
I've seen KISS which is pretty high production value, but in a different way.
Other than that - I'm pretty much a band type of girl.
I have seen No Doubt and Gwen on her own, but she doesn't put on a show like this.
Going back to Vegas, it really reminded me of a stage show you would see out there instead of a concert.
 As far as Britney's performance?
Pretty good even though she was only really singing in this act when she was on a swing.
Her body still looks pretty good but A. Liz and I decided she's had her ta tas redone recently.
 Overall, an awesome time!
Even if my ears are still ringing and I had a little less sleep than what I'm used to.
Thanks to A. Liz for being my partner in crime!
Crazy part?
We actually have a lot of mutual friends outside of blogs!
We're planning on getting together real soon with our husbands!
YAY for blog friends!
As for this weekend -- we're going to keep our eyes on Irene and try and relax!
Oh.. and maybe try and celebrate my 36th birthday a bit early, since it's Monday.
Tootles!

Tim McGraw!!

I went to my second concert this week.
Last night we rocked it out country style with Tim McGraw.

We tailgated a bit before heading inside.
Brad came along for this adventure.
We saw at least one Tim impersonator.
Yes, I even got a photo with him.
I'm a nerd.
Then we saw the real Tim!
OMG!
He is a true hottie!
I tried my hardest to get a picture of him from the front but to no avail.
Brad got to shake his hand though!
 He was STOKED!
I've seen Tim a couple times before but these were by far the best seats ever.
A box, in the front section with table service.
Tim always puts on a good show and it doesn't hurt that he's just hot.
*Sorry, I know that's the second time I've mentioned that in this post.*
 Good times for all!
I think we're going to take it easy tonight.

Girls Night Out - Goo Goo Dolls and Michelle Branch

I had a night out with girls last night.
I know...I know..
A Tuesday night?
I even shocked myself venturing out on the town on a 'school night'.

Monday night my friend Amanda called and said she had free VIP tickets to see the Goo Goo Dolls.
Giving that I rarely turn down anything free, I said 'yes'.

The show was held at the NC Music Factory that houses two live music venues.
The Filmore and the Uptown Amphitheatre.

The VIP lounge is housed in the Filmore on nights that the Amphitheatre hosts the show.
Here Amanda and I are inside.
Note to self: get a swimsuit top that won't show such terrible tan lines.
Michelle Branch was the opening act.
The last time I saw her she was still with the band, The Wreckers, but I guess they aren't together anymore.
She's still good and just as she sounds on her tracks.
The venue wasn't full for her performance but it filled up later, making it a packed house.
Here all of us girls are.
Yesterday was cooler than it has been so last night wasn't terrible being outside.
Then the Goo Goo Dolls took stage and they were awesome!
They played every big hit they've ever had and then some.
Their songs brought back so many good memories.
They too sounded just as they do in their recordings.
I say that - because it's a pet peeve of mine to see someone in concert who sucks live.
Such as -- Nelly Furtado.
Good times were had by all!
Amanda has VIP tickets for Tim McGraw tomorrow night and Brad and I just might take are taking her up on that one.
I love me some Tim.
Being that he's from Louisiana and all.
He puts on a good show too.
Tootles for now!
Happy Humpday!
Still reading my affirmations!

No Doubt Concert

The show was GREAT and packed out! The band Paramore opened up for them and I guess I'm getting old but I didn't have a clue who they were. Everyone kept talking about all the Twilight stuff but I haven't read any of those books or seen the movie?

Anyhoo..the weather held out and it wasn't even too hot. Look Dana even wore jeans! Not sure what's up this year but we aren't experiencing the heat we normally do this time of year.

My camera doesn't take great night pictures so I didn't get that great of pictures of Gwen and the band but gosh she awesome!

Her stomach is so ripped that I have to believe that after the show she went backstage and did some situps!

Well, that's it for now -- the weather is great here today and I'm about to head out for a walk.

CIAO!

Gwen on stage -- hard to see...

Me during Paramore.

Dana...we were told you couldn't bring blankets like you normally can so we only brought a jacket. Well, everyone had blankets..bummer.

Me and Dana. Check out my white legs! In need of some self tanner.

Ready to get my 'Rock Out' on!

It's Thursday and there's just one more day until the weekend!
My weekend plans? A 3rd birthday party for Brad's nephew Reed and then going to see No Doubt!
WOOHOO! I love me some Gwen Stefani and I am stoked that No Doubt is back together for a tour this summer!
My girlfriend Dana is going with me because she's in love with Gwen too and Brad wasn't about to step foot in this concert.
What is fo sho! is that seeing Miss Gwen rock it out with her rockin' body will motivate me that much more to get into shape.
BTW - I bought a new pair of tennis shoes last night. I tried to find the brand that CoCo told me about but they don't sell them here in Charlotte :(
I settled for ASICS and they did just fine on my walk this morning.
Well, CIAO for now!
