Charlotte Blogger Night at Symphony Park

For over 20-years now in the month of June the Charlotte Symphony has been hosting
 Pops in the Park.
It's held every Sunday in June at Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall.
It's a chance for area residents to get out, enjoy the outdoors, the beautiful music of the Symphony and socialize with friends over a wine and cheese picnic.

I decided to try and organize a group of Charlotte bloggers to go this past Sunday, and while it was a small group of us, it was a fun way to end the week.
People get out there early.
The gates open at 5pm and people are running to find spots to put their blankets and chairs.
The Prelude starts at 6:30pm.
Then at 8 o'clock, the actual concert begins.
Each week there's a different 'popular music theme'.
This past week was Pink Panther and so much more.
I really..really enjoy this!

The entire group.
Me, Lauren, Sarah and Sara.

Sara was my partner in crime and went early to find a spot and sit in the sun.
Thank goodness, the sun went down, because even though it was in the 80's, it's no fun to sit in direct sun.

 Sara made cookies.
And, we all brought wine, cheese, crackers and meats.
 A fun night!
I hope to make it again, at least once next year and eventually take Shelby out there!
There's one more Pops in the Park left and that's tomorrow night for the annual July 4th celebration.
Fireworks and Symphony.
Who could ask for more?
$15 for entry.
Happy 4th of July everyone!
We're headed to the lake to celebrate with family!!!

That looks so fun and neat! Austin does a lot of 'in the park' stuff, but the park it's all at is too far away from us, so we don't take advantage.
