Celebrity Encounters

So, my post about my fav band Better Than Ezra had me thinking back to the time I met lead singer Kevin Griffith. I chatted with him and band mate Tom Drummond about LSU football at a bar here in Charlotte.(Picture Above)

Some of you know – that – meeting Kevin was all-time favorite celebrity encounter.

But, I thought it would be fun to share some of my other encounters. None – are too major – but still fun.

NO..I’m NOT bragging...again, this is for fun.

Remember, I worked in TV for 10-years and 3 of those years was producing an entertainment show here in Charlotte.

ALSO, I lived in Las Vegas for 3 years – so I’ve met my share of famous people but didn’t feel the need to get my picture taken with all of them.

For instance – I didn’t care to get my picture with Carmen Electra, a ton of different comedians, etc.

So, here we go. Kevin was #1. Favorite encounter and here are the others in ranking order:

#2. Paula Deen
I met her when she appeared on my entertainment show here in Charlotte. She was just as she is on TV. She autographed her cookbook too! I know.. weird look on my face. I have a normal shot but it's not scanned in.

#3. Jay Mohr

I met him when he came into the station I worked at in Vegas. He was promoting his standup show at a casino. They let him do the weather on that noon newscast. He is downright one of the funniest people I've met. Nice too -- but I hear he can be a real jerk.

#4. Blues Clues
How gay am I? He too was brought into my Vegas station on the noon newscast to promote his show. I was so stoked in advance that I literally wore all blue that day in preparation! BTW - that's not the real Steve. I was told the real one doesn't travel

#5. Shaq

I met him too in Vegas while waiting for my car in the valet line at the Venetian. He had a huge entourage around him and they weren't going to let me near him.

That is -- until I told them I went to LSU. I chatted for a mere minute and this picture. Let me tell you? He was one BIG DUDE!

#6. Dave Attell

I met him when he too - came in and appeared on my entertainment show here in Charlotte. The Comedy Central star seemed a bit stoned? He was just allright. I wasn't too impressed even though Iliked his show at the time.

#7. Pauley Shore

This night was the best. This was a girl's night out at the Venetian when I lived in Vegas. We ran into Pauley on the casino floor. We took a picture with him but we were sure he was totally coked up.

I met him a few years later when he was on show here in Charlotte and he was sober but let me tell you. He is one big ladies man. Kinda Gross!

Well, that's it kiddos. The one celeb I wish I would have gotten my picture with? Julio Iglesias, Jr… CAN YOU SAY HOTTIE?? OMG!

We're headed to Lake Erie this evening. I won't be back online until Monday.
