If you follow me on Twitter today's post might be a bit boring because I've tweeted a lot of this already.
But, I'm posting it anyway.
So, here goes today's Thoughts and Pictures on Thursday.
* We're headed to my parents this weekend for Easter and Brad's parents are coming with us, not to mention my brother and his girlfriend are flying in from Louisiana too! All in the family for sure!
* I'm so excited because I bought tickets to see Van Halen later this month!
I'm not sure why but I have always loved me some VH! David Lee Roth and Sammy!
Yes, I'm probably showing my age.
Brad has seen them twice and he's not a big concert guy so I talked Mrs. and Mister to join me!
3-weeks from now!
* I'm not an avid reader like many of you but I go through my phases.
I recently read Laura Bush's book and George W's - which were both very good.
Now, I'm reading this.
Now, I'm reading this.
It's a page turner too for nerds like me who only read non-fiction in order to make themselves think they're learning something.
I read his first book over a decade ago and loved it so I knew this one would be great!
* Gas prices have gotten totally ridiculous.
By our house prices are $3.95 a gallon.
I can drive a mile down the road to South Carolina and gas up for nearly 30-cents cheaper.

$3.67
It's still a crazy price but better than almost $4.
* Remember my hike in the Gorges State Park this past weekend.
Well, I got to work on Monday and looked at a page from a magazine hanging on my file cabinet. I had ripped it out last year and realized it was the park we were at!

Crazy how our minds work!
* Speaking of last weekend.
When I got home on Sunday Brad had this waiting for me.
My man likes to cook!
My man likes to cook!
I told him we need to make this a Sunday tradition just so we can have leftovers!
This roasted chicken was delish!
* While in the mountains this past weekend we did quite a bit of shopping.
I was very surprised to see so many LSU(my Alma mater)items for sale.
I was very surprised to see so many LSU(my Alma mater)items for sale.
You generally don't see that here in the Carolinas.
It's always GA,SC, Clemson and even TN.
But... nope..
LSU garb was everywhere!
I scored this pumpkin for $10
I really wanted to buy this for $25(on sale)but we don't have a yard and it doesn't make sense.
They also had a ton of LSU ornaments in the Highlands Christmas Shop.
The owner did tell me that he has never had to restock because no one buys them.

BOO!
I guess that was why I was seeing so much LSU stuff, not enough Louisiana people travel this far north to buy it.
Ahhh.. and Christmas.
Can you believe we're only 8 months away?
Can you believe we're only 8 months away?
I'm secretly shopping already.
* Other items I admired while shopping over the weekend was this killer hat.
I would have bought it but let's be honest, I don't have an event in the near future to wear it to unless we decide to go to Steeple Chase at the last minute.
* I also would have loved to buy this ginormous bottle of Silver Oak wine.
Remember, Brad and I went there on our honeymoon.

They don't sell cheap wine.
* I missed Buddy like crazy when in the mountains and we kept seeing dogs everywhere.
Check out this cute mountain pooch I caught on camera at a nearby grocery store.

* In the same parking lot this dog.
The owners left him in the back of the flat bed with the flap down and this pooch didn't even consider jumping out.

I can't imagine.
Buddy would have bolted towards the first person he saw to be able to lick them to death.
And, that's all I have for today.
I'll be back next week with tons of deets on our Easter festivities!
That chocolate lab is so freaking adorable!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Easter!
Kool and the Gang is opening for Van Halen? That is so random, but also so awesome!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your parents! That lab is precious!
ReplyDelete1. Don't even get me started on gas prices. $4.50s here.
ReplyDelete2. Love the LSU pumpkin!
3. Love the concert planned!
I need to give you some of the historical fiction I read. You learn stuff but it's still an escape. Better than the books by W. and wife! haha
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteWhat great shopping, and expensive wine. Wow!
Gas prices are SO ridiculous! They are $4.30 near my house!
ReplyDeleteThat dinner looks fantastic! Hope you had a great Easter!
