Squirrel Hunting

While at the lake Brad and I did a little bit of squirrel hunting.
I know you're laughing.
I was too.
See, the squirrels have run rampant at my in-laws house.
They have literally taken over to the point of digging up flowerbeds, pots but it wasn't until they got into the garage and ate through the door and started tearing the place apart, that my FIL went and bought a pellet gun.
He's on a mission to run them out of town.
This was our first time to see this gun.
Brad was totally into it!
He was anxious to take aim on a few of the furry varmits.
Buddy is obsessed with them in the yard too, but has yet to catch one, or even keep them away.
He's a wuss.
So, after our boat debacle earlier in the day, Brad loaded up and took aim.
Nothing.
Then, I decided to give it a whirl.
Nothing as well.
Pretty fun though!
Sunday morning Brad couldn't wait to get up and take aim again!
This time he got one!
Squirrel down!!!!
My MIL couldn't wait to get out there, church clothes and all!
She brought a pair of tongs!
We thought he might be faking it but he wasn't..
He was dead as a door nail.
Disgusting or what!!??
We were all dying laughing.
As heartless as it may seem.
Like Brad has said, if only they had not invaded the garage these squirrels would be a-okay.
But, they crossed the line.
The rest is history!!

  5. Oh my goodness. Your MIL with tongs is so funny. You, too. Squirrels are kind of cute, but I know they are a nuisance. We feel that way about the deer in our yard. They eat everthing. We can't keep azaleas. Makes me so mad.

  11. Oh my! Brad and my dad would get along splendidly. He has a pellet gun that he uses and shoots them from out of his bathroom window. He hates them because they eat his pecans out of the tree and then the pecans stain the pool. He has OCD issues :)

The neighbors next door called Animal Control about a year ago because they found 3 dead squirrels in their yard and thought there was some sort of disease going around.... uh, NOPE. Just a pellet gun! hahaha
