Tonight we might hit a happy hour with Brad’s work people then call it a night and cook dinner at home.
In past years though St. Patrick’s Day was always one to look forward to.
Here’s me in 2008 – before I met Brad. I went all out this year celebrating with a group of people.
The St. Patrick’s Day I remember the most though is 2000 or 2001 in Las Vegas. My bestie, Cathy, worked for Gu*ness at the time and always had work events planned around the holiday.
I worked in TV news at the time and being the good friend that I was – I had my weather gal(also, another bestie – Dawn) to go live at her event and do the weather.
That’s right – 11 o’clock news, Las Vegas, St. Patrick’s Day, Irish pub – doing the weather? Can you say MAYHEM?! Umm..yes. It was loud and crazy and she was giving temps for the Vegas Valley.
SHENANIGANS…!!
After the news I was suppose to go and meet up with them but I got sick. Literally. I went home and went to bed.
The next day I was BUMMED!
WHY?
Cathy and Dawn ended up at the Hard Rock Center Bar that night and ran into Matt Damon and other celebrities who were in town filming Oceans 11. Dawn walked right up to Matt and started talking to him.
Can you believe? Cathy then joined in and told him that she worked for Gu*ness and how she knew his buddy Ben was a big fan.

I don't think I have any SPD memories; I've never really celebrated much. However, I love yours - and your friends'! You can't beat a good celeb sighting, and I bet you got a lot of them in Vegas! Have a fun night!
I like to pretend that when other people meet celebrities and I'm not there...it didn't really happen. Makes me feel better ;)

My favorite memory is actually were Hoboken St. Patty's day they 1st Saturday in March and the bars open at 8 am. It is insane. Literally.

Savannah 2002...pure green madness. I don't remember much more.
We used to ALWAYS do the st patty's day parade and then hang out on Greenville in Dallas and drink all day-you had too, because it was too crowded to leave. I pretty much stopped going when I had kids, Mark still went a few more times. Now our single friends still go.
