Festive Decor in Casa de Stephens

Holiday decorating is done is Casa de Stephens! My annual cookie exchange is Sunday and I only have a few things left to be ready and that includes grocery shopping and some more baking! It looks like there will be a good crowd!

Get ready for picture overload of the festive decor in the house. I took the pictures last night so some of them are dark so bear with me.

Second floor staircase -- I put garland and ribbon on the first floor too but thought I would subject you to pictures of only this one.

Nutcrackers! My Mom suggested I put nuts out by them. Kind of fun?

Dining room table. This is where all the yummy cookies will go!

Little china hutch! I reused the hurricanes from Thanksgiving! As you all know -- they're useful anytime of the year.

Mantle.
Yes, we have a flat screen above it. It was there before I moved in and will stay there. No negotiations on that one.
And.. yes, Brad and I are into The Biggest Loser.
Are any of you?
We think that Ada has to go. So tired of her whining.
Also, can't you tell I'm into Fleur de Lis? Again, it's a Louisiana thing. NOT a Kappa thing. Remember I was a Delta Gamma.

Another picture of our tree. I know I posted it a week or so ago.

Fun snowman piece that my MIL gave us last year.

I think my MIL gave us these hand towels last year too.
I did more baking last night for my Junior League holiday get together tonight.
This time? Hello Dollys!

Now back to our tree and some of my favorite ornaments.
We really have a mish-mosh on it but a lot of them have been bought on trips, received in exchanges and/or as gifts by family and friends.
My two favorites?
#1. This Statue of Liberty ornament that my friend and former co-worker Ashley got me in NYC several years ago. She met the artist at Bloomies(I think), and even had him sign the bottom for me! Gorgeous! It always hangs towards the top and in the front!

#2. This LSU ornament, also given to me by Ashley. Geez Louise she has good taste and knows me all too well!
The best part is! She went to Ole Miss and we always joke with each other about the rivarly between the two schools. Even so, her Mom is from Louisiana and went to LSU!

We can't have a tree with LSU ornaments and not have Hokie representation. So this hangs on our tree. If you're new here -- hubs went to Virginia Tech.

I am a big Disney fan and for several years did a Disney themed tree.(Yes, I worked there at one time)
So, I have TONS..AND TONS..of Disney ornaments.

Last year my MIL gave us a bunch of ornaments Brad made as a child. These too...hang on our tree.
How cute is this?

And.. last but not least.
I bought this ornament the first year I had Buddy in honor of LSU's mascot - Mike the Tiger. Just like a puppy...Buddy was fascinated with the tree and I found him chewing on it one day.
Yep -- he had pulled it off the tree and thought it was food or a toy. Faux Mike is a bit mauled but I keep hanging him to remind me of Budster's first days in this world.
Yep.. he's missing a foot.
Oh..well!
Not sure what it's like where you are but it's COLD OUTSIDE HERE! I'm wearing my UGG boots for the walk into work everyday and they're MONEY!
Well, that's it for today!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Oh, I just love everything. The ornaments and stories behind them are wonderful. I still have not finished all my decorations, you've inspired me to get on the ball!

It looks fab!!! I have to tell you this story...Like you, I have the fun "sticks" coming out of my tree. My brother-in-law was over as I was deocrating this weekend and made some comment about having never seen a tree w/ stuff coming out of it before. I guess it's a Southern thing, for sure!

Don't you just love having the Christmas decorations out? It makes my house feel so much more cozy. I love it! I've got my UGGs on today too! After debating spending the money last year, I definitely have gotten great use and they are super comfy and super warm. Hope you have a fantastic Christmas and a fun time at your cookie exchange party!

Your decorations are so pretty & I love your tree! I want to use some ribbon, but haven't found any yet, so it probably won't happen this year.
