Happy Monday My Loves!
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
Ours was nothing out of the ordinary.
Doing things around the house(this weekend was sprucing up our deck), cooking, hanging with Shelby and hanging with neighbors.
Brad and I are going a little stir-crazy though and are in need of an occassional sitter so we can get out.
We've got one for the end of the month. I'm thinking we might line her up in advance for a couple days a month.
Unless we have a sitter we can't really do dinner out or even go to a friend's house after 7pm.
Shelby goes to bed at 7pm every night and she's sleeping 11-1/2 to 12-hours.
If we bring her after 7pm she gets off schedule and I'm afraid of screwing up the good thing we have going.
Thoughts?
I know every now and then it's not that big of a deal but it just makes me anxious, not to mention, she's so use to it that she's fussy beyond belief after a certain time of being up.
Other than that life is pretty good.
We're really enjoying watching Shelby grow.
Each and everyday there's something new.
Friday was her 4-month birthday. Which means, of course, I had to take pictures complete with month stickers.
How cute is she?
Oh, my goodness....
This past month she started to really laugh, play in her exersaucer and master the Bumbo seat.
She's also started to notice Buddy some.
I had seen other bloggers mention about when their babies really started to notice the dog and how neat it was.
I'm hoping the two will be best friends.
I've received several tweets, Facebook and email messages asking me about how I like being back at work and having Shelby in nursery school.
I'm really happy with both!
I truly love being back at work and in the midst of everything. It's a nice break from being home all day long. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my time off for maternity leave and was initially sad about coming back, but I'm happy working.
It's just me.
As awful as that might sound to those who have chosen to stay home, we have the right to make our own choices.
This is what's right for our family.
I'm starting to master the schedule too.
I'm able to get in a power walk a few times a week after getting home.
The only thing I really need to work on is cooking more.
Brad really does the heavy lifting with that and it makes me feel like a bad wife a lot of times.
All in time... All in time..
And, you know what?
Shelby really loves her nursery school!
Brad says when he drops her off in the mornings she just smiles and smiles at her teachers.
They love her too.
I have to believe she's a favorite!! :-)
Shelby is social like her Mama too.
One of her teachers says she's good doing tummy time when all the other kids are doing it but when she's by herself she goes bonkers.
HA!!
And, that's life as we know it right now.
Working, trying to exercise more, cook more and be the best parents we can to Miss Shelby.
Oh, we're still swaddling.
We have her 4-month checkup in another week so I'm sure our next step will be solids!
Can't wait to see what her first food will be!!
CIAO!

Love the pics of you and her together!
We are still swaddling too...oops. Oh well, whatever works, right? Glad you are enjoying working. I am kind of missing it but enjoying my time home too.
When C was little we used to put him to bed then just go out to a late dinner. We hired a friend's daughter who was in high school so she just came over and did homework while we went out around 8. It was the best of all worlds because it was cheaper since she didn't really do anything and I didn't have to be nervous about her handling Baby or messing up bedtime!
She looks so much like Brad!
What time do you eat dinner? Can't you put her down at 7 and go to an 8 dinner? I guess that's normal time for me!
Happy 4 months Shelby! I'm totally with you on the working thing. If you are lucky enough to find a good school, then it all works out perfectly. I need to work. I miss Lyla all day long, but I know she is learning and having so much fun with her friends. I'd never want to take her away from that. Not to mention the socialization skills she has gained. It's a good break for me to be around adults during the day.
I'm working part-time building my health coaching practice and sometimes I wish I was still working full-time! I'm like you - I need the break.
Vivienne just started noticing her dog sister as well. Too cute.
This is going to be long...hee hee.
First, Shelby is utterly precious. Her smiles just melt my heart!
Second, so far, I am loving the Baby Merlin Sleep Suit. The point of it is that it 'muffles' their startles so a baby that is kind of in between swaddling and not can kind of ease into sleeping unswaddled. This is definitely where Drew fell because she was starting to be too long for her swaddle and seemed really uncomfortable but still needed it. we've only used the sleepsuit for bedtime twice and 1 nap. All 3 times were AT LEAST as good as swaddled and last night was BETTER than being swaddled... I'm hopeful that this will really help ease her into sleeping in a sleep sack only! I bought ours off Amazon... Hope this helps!
i cant read any of your text - just see photos which are so cute!!
NOt sure what is going on when I view your blog lately. I cant believe she is already 4 months! such a pretty little girl!
Dee, she seriously gets cuter by the day! Glad the schedule is working out!!
I seriously need to meet this cutie patootie. She's just too adorable. I love how much she enjoys going to school. I'm sure she definitely charms all the teachers. :) And LOVE the LSU dress in the prior post.
