I'm always looking for unique gifts that won't break the bank and last year I saw this one on a blog and tucked it away for safe keeping.
Simple, even for someone like me. I wish I had a better tutorial but trust me, it's easy.
It starts with a wedding invite.
And, simple clear Christmas balls that are capable of being opened.
Simply cut up the invite with scissors and stuff it into the ball.
I say 'cut', because, I saved a friend's wedding invite from December in an attempt to make them one and decided to use our shredder.
BAD decision.
The invite turned to powder.
BOO!
No ornament for them.
Tie a ribbon on the top and you have a cute and special memento for the tree!
Nothing too fancy but fun!
I gave them to my cousins and a friend, all of whom are getting or did get married this Fall.
I even made one for our tree with our wedding invite!
Again, nothing too earth shattering but simple and it's the thought that counts.
Right?

That's a very cool idea, Dee. What about Christmas gifts for neighbors that short sheet your beds while you are away and they are given keys to water your plants?
Such a nice idea. Good job.

I did this for one of my besties last year for Christmas. she LOVED it. I'm taking the photos for a friend of hers this weekend and made another one last night. it's my new favorite Christmas (or in this case wedding) gift for newlyweds.
Great idea - you could even do it with a birth announcement too ...
super cute!! My great aunt framed ours in the perfect matching frame she made us. It was a very special gift.
I love this idea. People spend a fortune on invites....especially wedding.....how fun to commemorate them with ornaments.
My baby announcements go into their baby books, but I still have Lainey's in her shadowbox. Just too cute to put away.
What a great idea, and it looks really easy, too!
Looks great! It's something that they will keep forever too!
What a fabulous idea! I'm just now getting caught up on my blogs. I do love this gift for a newlywed. I never would have thought of this - love it! And I love that you are looking a x-mas cards already, so I'm not the only one. :) I love the one that folks can hang on their tree. So different.
